Ukrainian naval drones strike two Russian oil tankers in the Black Sea, dealing a significant blow to Russia's oil transportation. The attack, which occurred on Saturday, targeted two tankers, the Kairos and Virat, as they were heading to a Russian port to load up with oil destined for foreign markets. The drones, which are uncrewed speedboats packed with explosives, caused fires and explosions on the vessels, leaving both tankers out of service. This comes as part of Ukraine's efforts to pressure Russia's vast oil industry and its so-called 'shadow fleet', which the Ukrainian government claims is helping Moscow export large quantities of oil and fund its war in Ukraine despite western sanctions. The Caspian Pipeline Consortium, which handles more than 1% of global oil, also halted operations after a mooring at Russia's Black Sea terminal was damaged by a Ukrainian naval drone attack. Turkey voiced concern over the attacks, stating that the incidents took place in its exclusive economic zone and posed serious safety risks. The Ukrainian official did not disclose the exact timing of the strikes, and there was no public comment from Russia.
