TUCSON, Ariz. — The Pima County Sheriff’s Department (PCSD) and the FBI have intensified their joint investigation, reaffirming a strong, ongoing partnership to resolve Nancy Guthrie’s disappearance. Investigators emphasize that this collaboration remains central, with all forensic evidence routed to a single, out-of-state laboratory to ensure consistency.
New physical findings include several gloves discovered roughly two miles from Guthrie’s home, countering earlier rumors that a glove was found inside the residence. DNA not matching Nancy Guthrie or her close contacts has been collected, and authorities are actively working to identify the DNA’s source, although the exact location of the DNA remains undisclosed.
The FBI’s newly released suspect description remains a key focus. Nevertheless, no potential suspects or vehicles have been ruled out, and the public is urged to provide actionable tips. All video materials being reviewed are under examination.
In a proactive outreach, the PCSD will request surveillance footage via the Neighbors App covering January 1, 2026, to February 2, 2026, from Guthrie’s neighborhood. The request seeks footage capturing any suspicious activity involving people or vehicles.
At the Guthrie family’s request, routine pool maintenance was conducted at the residence. Despite sustained media attention, there are no press briefings scheduled, and the sheriff’s office will limit interviews through the weekend. Media outlets are encouraged to coordinate with local affiliates for coverage.
Nancy Guthrie was last seen around 9:45 p.m. on Saturday, January 31, and was reported missing the following day after she failed to attend church.

Nancy Guthrie is described as 5 feet 5 inches tall (165 cm), weighing 150 pounds (68 kg), with brown hair and blue eyes. Authorities have indicated that Nancy Guthrie is in frail health and without her daily medications; reports also note that she lives alone.
