M56 Traffic Disruptions: Emergency Repairs Cause Severe Delays
Commuters are experiencing significant delays on the M56 this morning due to urgent repairs following a diesel spillage caused by an overturned lorry last night. The incident has led to the closure of two lanes on the westbound carriageway between J12 Runcorn and J14 Chester Services, resulting in delays of up to two hours, according to National Highways.
The road authority's statement reads: "Lanes 1 & 2 (of 3) are closed on the M56 west between J12 (Runcorn) & J14 (Elton) for emergency works following an incident involving an overturned lorry last night. The lanes remain closed to treat a diesel spillage."
